The sponge is designed softer and made especially for defenders, who prefer chop-defence far from the table. In fact the soft sponge of the rubber makes the chop-defence against fast topspins more controlled and provides evidently more rotation. The trajectory of long defence balls is visibly lower. Compared to the FEINT LONG II one can easier vary the rotation when pushing above the table. If the opponent plays a short and soft spin-ball after several hard ones, a low return is easier.
One example: Our defence artist Koji Matsushita demoralizes his opponents by his very safe backhand defence with extreme rotation, then interacts with an aggressive forehand. For him the FEINT LONG III is the ideal rubber. Who sticks to the table using long pimples to block or counter should better rely on FEINT or FEINT LONG II.
