How to play with Gorilla and Grizzly
Anti-Spin rubbers GORILLA and GRIZZLY produce a very good disruptive effect and also a good spin reversal.
Also they offer very good attacking possibilities through aggressive pushing, lifting and even counter-attacking.
In that regard please note that a few weeks of practise will be necessary in order to get fully used to the new rubbers.
Please find hereafter a few hints about blocking with Gorilla and Grizzly:
The bat needs to be held passively (= without any forward movement) while blocking. Any forward movement will cause the ball to get too high and/or too long, also the spin reversal will be reduced.
Furthermore not to hold the bat too firmly in your hand.
The ball should not be hit right after the bounce but rather a bit later. Let the ball come towards you.
A continuous movement needs to be performed for all other strokes such as counter-attacking, hitting, aggressive pushing and lifting. The angle of the bat should hardly be changed throughout the stroke. This way control can be enhanced decisively.
New table tennis technique video on DVD includes over 50 different techniques with Anti-Spin, long pimples with friction, half-long and short pimpled rubbers as well as reversed rubbers. It shows over 20 techniques with Anti-Spin rubbers. The total running time will be approximately 100 minutes.
